Misadventure explores the aftermath of the death of the artist’s uncle. Moving between photographs and text, the work reflects on grief, family, and absence. Situated between a novella and a photobook, the project constructs a multistranded narrative shaped by memory, documentation, and imagination.

The work draws from personal diaries, photo-elicitation processes, observational notes, archival references, and literary influences. Its visual language combines carefully composed medium-format photographs with snapshots and altered archival imagery, tracing a pursuit of reflection and reconnection.

This intimate narrative of personal loss, situated within a broader Irish context of family, estrangement, and addiction, invites viewers to project their own experiences onto its layered form.
